Avik’s childhood was bathed in Indian Classical Music and influenced by songs of Rabindranath Tagore. The mellifluous stream of the Ganges of Chandannagor added another dimension to his perception. Ever since he had been a student, enthusiast and treasurer of Music. He often played Sitar in early teens.
Later, in college days, he was introduced to the world of Western Classical Music which took a larger shape while exposed to German scoring while at MaxMuller Bhavan. He takes interest in playing keyboard.
His scorings, if minutely followed, have a perfect blend of Indian and Western Classical Music. Some of his lyrics and scorings were recorded and released in 2011.
His living, being and renditions in work pulsate with nuances which are essentially musical.
